When to Book
You can contact me at any point in your pregnancy to schedule your session. Contacting me as early as possible will ensure that I have an opening available for you as they tend to book quickly. I will tentatively schedule you based on your due date. After you have the baby let me know and we can confirm a date and time for your session.
My schedule is always changing! That’s just the nature of game when taking pictures of newborns. Babies tend to have a mind of their own when it comes to delivery 🙂 That being said, if you just had your little one or are about to please don’t hesitate to see if I have any last minute openings.
If your little one is already here and you have missed the "ideal" time, don't worry!! We can still capture beautiful, amazing images of your little one.
The Session
Newborn sessions take place at my studio. These sessions typically last 3 hours to account for all of your littles ones needs (feedings, diaper changes, comforting).
I have all of the props, blankets, hats, headbands, and outfits needed for the session, so you do not have to worry about bringing anything. For most pictures, your little one will be photographed without their diaper, but don’t worry I am fully prepared for the mess that comes with this as every baby will pee or poop during the session. All of my props and blanket are washable so there is no need to worry about anything.
During the session I can also photograph immediate family members with the baby, if desired. For these pictures it is best for the family to wear something simple and neutral without large, distracting patterns or colors as this can take away from the baby.
Newborn Safety
The safety of you little one is very important to me. All props and blankets are washed in baby detergent after each session. I never place babies in poses that could hurt or jeopardize their safety in any way. Some shots you see are composites to ensure their safety. It is also important to realize that not every baby can do every pose and for this reason I do not force a newborn into a pose that they are not comfortable with.
